Miranda Burland was born and raised in Polson, MT and graduated from Polson High School in 1993. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Services- Rehabilitation from Salish Kootenai College in 1999. After graduating, she began working for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes Early Childhood Services/ Head Start program for three years then began working for the Tribal Education Department in 2002. She first worked as a Community Development Specialist (Parent/ Student Advocate) until 2015 and is currently the Higher Education Scholarship Officer/ Tribal Education Program Manager.

Hello! My name is Sarah BigSam. I am Montana born and raised. My husband and I have two children; one daughter and one son. I am also a fur-mama to two dogs. I have a Bachelor's degree of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Montana Western and maintain a State of Montana Teaching License. Prior to becoming a Tribal Education Advocate (TEA) at CSKT Education Department, i taught a myriad of subjects at Dixon School. I believe in the power of experiential learning and have experienced working at the Montana Natural History Center, spectrUM Discovery, and Museum of the Rockies. I look forward to working with you all and building lasting relationships!

Hello! My name is Alfred DeRoche. I am Ump Skah Pii Pii Guhn nii, Southern Piegan. I lived on my reservation until I moved to Arlee in 1985. In additions to being Blackfeet, I am proud to be Quinault, Cree, and French Canadian. I received my Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Montana and completed my MBA at Gonzaga University. My wife, Georgie, and I have four beautiful successful daughters. My career spanning the last 30+ years includes teaching at Blackfeet and Salish Community Colleges for 20 years, six years with the Blackfeet Tribe's head start program, and positions with Kicking Horse Job Corps, spent time doing construction, working with the Forest Service, and subbing at various local schools, served a term on the Arlee School Board, was on the Missoula Teen Challenge Board, and I am a certified chaplain with Seneca Community Chaplain Corps: we have established a Native chaplains corps headquarters in St. Ignatius. I am excited to have the opportunity, upon request, to serve your school, your parents, and your students with any situation they may be facing.

Hi there, my name is Karissa Trahan and I am a Salish mother of two beautiful children. Born and raised in Ronan and graduated from Ronan High School in 2008. My background is social work, specifically working with children and families. I graduated from Salish Kootenai College in 2015 with my Bachelor of Social Work and begun pursuing my Master of Social Work in 2017. I love going to powwows, baking, crafting, and eating a good bowl of ramen. I look forward to helping our students and their families navigate their educational journey on the Flathead Reservation, Lemlmts pesya.
